I have a 2007 Toyota Tundra with the 4.7 v8. I purchased this truck new in 2007. About 5 times since it has left me stranded. Turn the ignition key and everything goes black. No dash lights no interior lights, nothing. After leaving the truck sitting over night it fires up fine. About 6 months ago was the last time this happened.  A local mechanic replaced the battery.  Switched the ignition switch on and dash lights and interior light lit up. Turned key and there was a click sound and all went black. He had it towed to his shop the next day. Popped the hood put the key in and she started right up. Friday, a week ago i hopped in turned the key and it cranked fired up and cut off. Did this about 3 times. Then it wound fire up any more just continue to crank until the electric start timmed out. After watching some videos I assumed it was the fuel pump possible fuse or relays but my luck a fuel pump. Four days later I meet tow company where it was park so they could tow it to the Toyota dealership and it fired right up! No one seems to be able to help me. I understand you cant fix whats broken but it never stays broken long enough lol... Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks

Terry

Maybe a hinky ignition switch?

It seems you may have an electrical short, likely in  the ignition switch circuit.

I think @jack62 can help a lot in this regard.
