I have an 08 Acura TL that's at 208k miles. It still runs pretty well, but I'm still considering getting a new vehicle because I'm not sure how long this thing is going to last. I've replaced the compressor, radiator, power steering pump and motor mount all recently. I want to know how much further you think this thing will last? Should I put more money into it?
Also considering replacing with a 4Runner or compact SUV(or any other recommendations)? and is now a good time to buy?
I'm considering this change because I just moved away from home and really need something dependable.
Thanks to astronomical used car prices around the world right now, unless you must change your vehicle, I’d say hold onto it. Since you’ve invested a few parts into it, who knows ow much longer it may keep going..?
With that said, the weakest link usually is the automatic transmission in Honda/Acura vehicles. So if you have signs of failure, I’d get rid of it while it’s still worth something.
If you’re itching to get the 4Runner, put up your car for sale & see what kind of offers you receive. Take it from there..
Well you state the car runs well and the market for used cars is insane right now. I would try and hold on longer.
It's always cheaper to keep'er.
