Hi, I'm from South Africa 🇿🇦  I saw second hand Audi A3 1.8 automatic Hatchback (from car dealer) and mileage is 162 800KM ... and from the pictures I saw the car is still in good condition. Is this a good car to buy as a second hand?

No, it'll be a money pit. Avoid anything European.

Thank you so much Russell🙏🏼

And KIA? I saw a 2011 KIA Cerato Hatchback 2.0 SX automatic... mileage: 102 000 km.

It is much better than the AUDI but it is better to stick to Toyota or Honda if they are available in your area.

Thank you🙏🏼

Being in S.A., dunno how far you plan on venturing out of the cities but I'd go for some sort of Toyota hilux variant, be it a truck or suv.

They last forever with basic maintenance & as long as you aren't on the coast it won't have any rust issues.

Again I don't know the situation there as far as parts go but you also want to take that into consideration. When looking for parts availability also look at what is most commonly driven there, that way if something can't be imported it can be taken from a junked vehicle.

I believe Leo Prinsloo was driving a four door hilux with a short bed, granted that was armored (why he didn't get hurt) but with all that extra weight of armored body panels/glass the truck took it & kept running.
