Hey Scotty... I've been looking at 2006-2008 Buick Lucernes with GM's 3800 motor. A lot of the ones I've been looking at are 180,000+ miles... Are they a good car for someone with little mechanical experience?

I would not advise making that purchase. The 3800 series was a good engine, but the transmissions they hooked up to were terrible. And for what it costs to rebuild/replace the transmission, it's going to cost more than the car is worth at that mileage.
