Scotty, I have a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado with 80k miles. Check engine light is intermittent an can go days between on and off. Code said that it's running lean. Cleaned the mass air flow sensor but it did not fix the issue. No difference in the way it drives when light is on or off. What would you suggest as the next thing to look at? Thanks!!
Can you provide the exact code?
Unfortunately, no
You could try cleaning the throttle body. Get a fresh air filter and check your fuel pump pressure (mechanically), also check alternator output at idle.
Thanks
If its lean its most likely either a vacuum leak or a fueling issue. How does idle, and how does it do on the highway when you try to accelerate?
It seems fine at idle. Can't tell the difference at any speed
if it's the 4.3 then check for vacuum leaks
I believe the 2008 Colorado engine choices were either a 2.9 liter 4-banger or a 3.7 liter inline 5-cylinder. No 4.3L.
Yes, it's a 2.9
wow. I would have expected a v6 on a pickup. even the SUV's and Astros get them
