My brother has a 2008 Dodge Avenger. It has a P0301 Cylinder 1 misfire and a P0128 code (Thermostat Rationality) are these coders related should I start replacing the thermostat and spark plugs?

Replace sparkpugs first to see if the temp goes up higher than it does now.
