It started about 3 years ago driving at any speed it would just die and I would put it in neutral and starts right up. It did that every so often and then it stopped for a few months then it did it again randomly stalls sometimes when I'm stopped some other times driving at 60mph but it never failed to start right back again. Now it's been about 8 months without stalling and it just stalled again when I took the exit of the highway. It's a weird thing as I can't duplicate the stalling at all no matter what conditions I try. It's been driving me crazy for about 3 years. Any suggestions out there. There was no work done prior or during this events just regular maintenance. 2008 ram 1500 with now 152k Miles, started stalling around the 125k miles. And no codes set nothing It's like you driving and turn ignition off.
Try replacing the fuel filter and pressure testing the fuel pump and take it from there.
It can't be a fuel issue as truck runs fine %99 of the time and the stall is not frequent enough and does not set any codes. Low fuel pressure would of set a dtc I believe. It's like a ghost in there and when he wants he reaches and turns key off and it happens at a stop or driving at any speed including highway speeds ( dangerous and scary when it first happened) different driving environments and impossible to duplicate as i tried live data with screen recordings for many days and never stalled and it can happen a few times in one week and then not happen for 10 months. It's driving me crazy I even forget that it stalls and then it comes back and then gone again not a consistent issue and not frequent enough to duplicate. But what I can do is put a pressure gauge on fuel line and monitor it until it stalls out but since it dies and starts right out I don't think that I can see if its fuel or something electronic as it all dies out and i crank it back and starts like nothing is wrong. No long cranks either it just starts right away. Hopefully someone else had a similar issue that can pitch in some information. Dis a Google search and found somethings about similar cases from relays to bad ignition and mybtests came out empty. Thank you for your suggestion.
