Hey Scotty,
I have a '08 Ford Escape with 150k miles and what sounds like piston slap coming from the engine. I was told the V6s have a good reliability record - so a bit disappointed. What are my options? And is my best option another car?
Right now the plan is to drive it until it explodes. Any thoughts on how long it might last? It's been making the noise about a year now.

I think this is ending the life time of your vehicle. Sorry about that.
For your next car, consider Toyota, Lexus, Honda, or Acura.
However based on what you are driving now, I think you will like highlander.
