i recently sold my 2008 fit (164,000mi) and bought a 2010 civic (92,000mi) from a family friend, I made about $500 in the end. The fit was a NY car and had minor corrosion on the underpaneling and some parts of the unibody(the civic is a Ca car). The deal seemed like a no brainer for me but i got some mixed reviews mostly in regard to the fit being more economical and having a lower cost of ownership. The fit was also made in japan and the civic was built in Honda's Indiana plant. Both cars a free of mechanical issues. Thoughts?
Too late now. Did you have the Civic scanned and inspected? If not, I predict you'll have one less family friend soon.
yeah i did it had no codes on it. fuel trims were good. tans fluid was drained and filled at 60,000mi
How 'bout the inspection by a mechanic? Was the filter replaced when the trans fluid was replaced? Did you see receipts?
a mechanic inspected it and i went with them when it was serviced
