Hey Scotty, I inherited a 2008 Ford Escape XLT V6 with an auto trans and 77,000 miles. It is very clean and drives nicely; power everything. Are these good vehicles as they age? Do you reckon it's worth $6000? Should I sell it for a Toyota for my young boy who will be driving in 6-7 years? Thanks for all the great vids!
The Escape was built in collaboration with Ford and Mazda. The Mazda counterpart is the Tribute.
While I much prefer a RAV4 or CRV of that era, IMHO, the collaborative escape is probably the better of the American SUV makes.
I don’t know details of your exact year. I do know someone with the previous generation whose only problem was a leaking coolant reservoir, and needing to change the cat after high mileage. Otherwise it held up pretty well with just basic maintenance.
