2008 Ford F150 4x4 120,000 reocurring bad front wheel bearing?
What causes that to happen. I have replaced twice and it is happening again. 🙁
Thank you all. J
We had this same problem when we replaced the wheel bearings in our 06 Camry. We first replaced it with the aftermarket wheel bearings from AutoZone. The same problem persisted so we thought maybe the part was defective and replaced it again with the same aftermarket ones. The wheel bearing was still making noise. So we Replaced it again with National brand Wheel Bearings and it fixed the problem. For wheel bearings never buy aftermarket ones they go bad really quick or you will still hear the noise from the wheel bearing. Always buy the OEM ones. National or Timken is best.
Are you using OEM bearings or aftermarket China-made replacements?
1st one AutoZone, 2nd Detroit Axel.
Stock wheels? (Aftermarket wheels may not have the correct offset and can improperly load the bearings.)
Used vehicle had stupid 22's with low profile 40's. Got rid of those and put stockers back on prior to the bearing on there going out the 1st time.
I'm wondering if maybe something like the spindle or steering knuckle was bent slightly when the aftermarket wheels were on it, especially if the previous owner took it offroad or otherwise abused it.
I appreciate you Chuck. It was my suspicion...oh but what's a girl to do 😳 . Guess I will have to get busy checking that out....before the wheel falls off! Thank you. J
