Hi Scotty,
Got a 2008 Civic MT with about 80k km on the clock. I accidentally left the AC switch on when I shut the engine off yesterday and left it parked under the sun in the middle of the day. On the way home, the AC initially was working fine then suddenly didn't blow cold, then again about 45 minutes later and never happened again until I got home. Rarely happens; can only recall one other time it did the exact same thing when I turned it down because it's too cold for my mom while driving her around in the middle of the day. Otherwise it's working quite well even on an extremely hot day.
Was wondering if it's just a fluke, needs a top up on refrigerant, or something else about how the AC system works that i'm not aware of. I don't think it has a leak since it's normally blowing ice cold.
When's the last time you changed your cabin air filter? Could be as simple as that be the AC is working harder than it needs to, if not you'd then have to check fuses, codes and high/low side pressure in that order typically.
I did check the cabin air filter recently, it's pretty clean. Might try the fuses and such as well, though since it's only happened twice and i can't figure a pattern besides the hot day i might keep watching for now. Thanks!
