Hello!
I have a 2008 Honda Pilot with a 3.5 v6. It has 143k miles and is pretty clean for its age. The rear main seal is starting to leak and will cost about $1,000 to fix because it is behind the transmission. Is this a sign it may be time for me to look for a new car? Or, should I fix it and keep on riding?
If I buy a new one, I was looking at a newer Acura MDX. Are the newer Acura suvs having the transmission issues last older models?
Thanks,
Logan
the newer acura trans are not honda made they now buy them from ZF for the larger odyssey pilot/mdx, trucks..
1000$ seems too high is this a dealer quote? if so try to find independant mech you could save alot on the overhead costs etc. keep the pilot if you maintained it 143k is nothing on a honda tbh could easy hit 300k+ with regular maintenance
