Hi Scotty, OMGoodness feel like driving my car to come see you to fix my car. Honestly
I love my 2008 Lexus RX 400H and have had no problems with the motor and seen so many mechanics and none of them are on the same page regarding what is the clicking/clunking sound "when I take off or brake" coming from the front end, sometimes it is on the passenger side, then the drivers side and even in the center under my feet, I can feel it. Occasionally I have felt it making a right turn, I have been told it was CV Axles passenger side, replaced, then drivers side cv axle, replaced, still happening, Ok next it's the motor mounts, ALL replaced and still having that noise. I ask them to check the tie rods, check the ball joints, also my car I can feel it start shaking so I asked to check alignment. Mechanic took it for a test drive, comes back and puts car on the rack, never does anything I have requested...starts to tell me he is the BEST mechanic here in F.S....lol Ok, he said it's the "lower a arm bushing" and transmission, "hear that whistling sound" "humming sound" No, I don't hear it. WHAT ABOUT THE CLICKING? He said it's the transmission making that sound when it is slowing down and speeding up, the shifting. My question to you is, Really Scotty, can this be true? On one side or the other and then in the center? If it was the transmission wouldn't it be consistent in a specific location? Could those bad motor mounts have done something to transmission?
I am at the end of my rope. All I want to do is drive & go see my grandkids in another state and I live on SSDI don't have all this money to continue guessing and replacing everything...he told me to check the internet for any recalls on the transmission, there are none...at least I don't see any. My car drives great!!! I have no acceleration problems, no start up problems...etc. getting on the freeway & accelerating is fine. I just don't know what to believe at this point...another mechanic says it's my Struts, and yet another stating possibly tie rods/ball joints. I have no idea what to do {black}:idontknow: and I feel like giving up, but know I can't. I can't afford to buy a new car & have car payments. I drive to make ends meet doing transportation to seniors for Dr appointments, etc. also food delivery but haven't been working because of this noise! I don't want to risk making it worse. There is NO public transportation in my town so I need my car. What should I do? Should I have a "Complete Vehicle Inspection" I trust your opinion.
Thanks for your time in reading this, I am in Arkansas and honestly if your still repairing cars I would drive there in a heartbeat if I can get an appointment & afford you. {black}:sweaty:

See the FAQ if you would like to make an appointment with Scotty. He would probably use a gadget like the one in this video to find where the noise is coming from:

thanks for the info. I watched this video, think I am just going to go ahead and take it in for a full inspection. I don't want to spend any more money. Love this device.
Possibly engine mounts or transmission mount
Engine Mounts and Transmission mounts have ALL been replaced. I put that information in my post but thank you
