My 2008 Lincoln MKX has about 204,000 miles on it. After a year of owning it, I put 17,000+ miles on it, mostly highway and idling. Is it a good car to keep and spend decent money on for the next few years?

Hell keep the thing. Those werent bad vehicles. The 3.5 has only ONE problem. Water pump, just change the coolant frequently. Every 50k miles. And you can keep going for YEARS.

I would not spend too much money on it as you're nearing the lifespan of those things they're electronic nightmares and they often go bananas as they age. Just maintain and see how it holds up don't put too much money in

Okay thank you for letting me know Scotty. I can already tell the alternator is going bad most likely, the parking lights and interior lights flicker on a little bit on idle. This thing was practically my camper, idling it overnight for my AC. I paid $4400 at the Krieger dealership for my bargain, after totaling an 08 Trailblazer LS and getting insurance money. The Lincoln is my 2nd vehicle ever, and I'm attached lol

More specifically, I have put more than 5 grand into this car, new radiator fan assembly, new rear shocks. One time I totaled the thing and got the entire cooling system replaced and anything else I could imagine
