Hello Scotty,
2008 Mazda 3 GS - 150,000 kms
Bought car new in 2007
In 2009 was the first AC compressor change
Since then almost every year the AC starts blowing warm and in some cases (after 3 new compressors) i do try to fill it myself just to keep it going to avoid the repair right away
NO leak ever found when dye is added by mechanics
EVERY time we end up taking it in, its an "internal failure" of the AC compressor and a new one is required
i am on the 5th compressor
I have bought OEM, aftermarket, had it changed at Mazda Dealers and Canadian Tire
Makes no difference - seems to fail every year almost - Can't understand it.
Can it be alignment - maybe the spot where it mounts is machined incorrectly at factory?
Can it be installed improperly 5 times by 5 different mechanics?
Any experience with a Mazda similar to this - your insight would be helpful.
When you go OEM, you shouldn't be having issues at all. Whoever did the work on your car did not install it correctly. I had the AC compressor replaced on my Mercury Grand Marquis and the mechanic used an OEM one and installed it correctly.
I totally agree - going OEM should not result in issues - my problem is that i HAVE tried OEM, i've tried aftermarket, I tried getting it done TWICE at two different Mazda dealers.... I've had it done at Canadian Tire 3 times - i cant 100% guarantee but probably 3 different mechanics.... so not sure what could be causing it.
