i just recently bought a 2008 nissan titan has 334,000 km on it certified with 6 monh warrenty on it. is this a decent truck? it has almost no rust other than the cubby door behind the back tire . i enjoy the feel of it and the power it has, but have noticed while driving : going down hills and let off the accelerator sometimes the rpms will jump from around 1100 to 2000 then back down up and down 3 or 4 times then relaxes back to normal. also when driving and letting off the accelerator then back on the accelerator theres a clunk and a bit of a kick almost every singe time . also having crank no start issuse. ive had it for 2 weeks and its done it about 5 times . lots of crank but doesnt turn over usually starts after 4 or 5 times trying ..im taking the truck back in a few days to have them re look it over and fix the issues then test drive it again. if not fixed i will return truck and get my money back since its till under the 30 day dealership warrenty. but if they do fix it proper is it worth keeping?
Thanks in advance for any help
1) I think thats alot of mileage for a nissan.
2) maybe have it load tested, you might have a weak battery /alternator / also starter. If starter and alternator are original they are definately need to be looked at.
OK, a lot going on here. My suspicion is bad transmission is causing the RPM fluctuations, bad motor mounts is causing the clunking, and (?) is causing the no-start (look in the FAQ on the home page, there is a section on no-starts). In other words, could be $$$ to address the issues.
There is more to this truck than you're going to get on a forum like this. Getting it sorted is going to take hands-on. Since you like the truck, I would find a good independent mechanic and pay for an inspection, somewhat like a pre-purchase inspection. Then go to the seller with what you find.
