I found a 2008 Scion TC it seems to be in great shape. It’s at a junk yard and I don’t know what’s wrong with it. How can I see if the engine or transmission are fine or bad without starting the vehicle. Is it worth putting any serious money into like that guy on your video who bought a Miata.

You basically can't.
In junkyards, they sometimes let you turn on the car and move it just a little bit.

2007 Scion tCs had excessive oil use, hard to detect unless driven several hundred miles.
Low oil level may not have been discovered until engine was damaged.
