Hi Scotty.. my wife has a 2008 Toyota Highlander & recently at around 100,000 miles popped up on the display a message saying VSC turned off. Also the engine light & ABS light came on. When I researched this it describes it as a vehicle stability and traction control issue... Which further research is showing this is a very broad code for this vehicle and that most of the time it's either the gas cap... Or O2 sensors. Can this be right? Need your help Scotty. In Toyotas, it’s normal to have the traction control and ABS lights turn on whenever the check engine light illuminates.
Like @doc suggested, have the vehicle scanned at any auto parts store (since the CEL is on) and please post all the codes here.
Is the vehicle’s drivability affected in any way? (Sluggish, hesitation, etc)
