Hi, i just got a 2007 mustang with 100k miles. When i got the car the steering wheel would shake a lot when going over 60 mph. I thought it was just the tires being out of balance. I got the front tires replaced with the same model of tire because they were bald and kept the rear tires since they still have decent tread. I also got all 4 tires balanced and the alignment checked. Since then the shaking in the steering wheel has gotten better but is still there. Would should i check next.
Thanks
Bent rims, loose front end parts, worn wheel bearings.
If it was the wheel bearings wouldn't you hear something. Also I know the car was sitting for awhile could it be the back tires are indented. Could the back tires making the steering wheel shake?
Jack the car up and feel for looseness and roughness in the bearings, and all the other front suspension parts. Back tires could cause vibration but I don't think they would make the steering wheel shake.

No, that won't make the steering wheel shake. The car will vibrate if it has out of round tires on the back. It could shake the steering wheel if it's a flat spot on a front tire, but those are typically temporary. If it sat long enough to become permanent, you would replace the tires.
@chucktobias is right. Something is worn, broken, or loose in the front end. Check the wheels for play, look at ball joint and tie rod boots. Replace them if they're ripped. Providing they did the alignment and balance job correctly, there's something wrong in the front end. They should've told you what is wrong.
I had my Catalina aligned and told the Tire Discounters guy that it "remembers" turns to the right and needs overcorrected to the left. They told me the idler arm was worn. I fixed it myself. No more "memory" steering.
If the car was wrecked, that can cause problems like this too.
+1 Chuck
If you’re sure the wheel balancing was done correctly, check for wreck damage.
