I have a 2008 wrangler unlimited sahara
4x4 with the 42 rle transmission and 3.8 v6. It has192000 miles and it recently started throwing the p1745 code causing the Transmission to be stuck in limp mode. I took it to the dealership and they “ diagnosed” it needing a new transmission. My problem is they never dropped the pan or checked the fluid. Just ran the fancy scanner on the computer. I’m hoping it’s just a solenoid pack gone bad.. but I desperately need your help! Please help me!!
It is a jeep and these weren't exactly well made but yours seems to have made it this far. This could be something simple like a bad sensor or a solenoid. But your transmission could also just be shot. If whatever needs to be repaired cost more than a grand you should just junk it since that is probably half of the cars value. Good luck for now!
Edit: I got the value of the car wrong, Its worth WAYYY more than that, i must have been thinking of some other car.
