[Solved] Why do I smell gas during cylinder compression test?

I did compression tests for Lexus GS300 1995 and Toyota Yaris 2007. Both times I smelled fuel fumes. Why? How is that possible?

Conditions: EFI fuse removed (to stop fuel delivery); all spark plugs removed; driver's door open; throttle pedal pressed to the floor (to fully open the throttle intake valve).

There's always residual fuel in fuel injectors and you'll always smell some fuel when you're cranking engine over unless it's a new engine that's never been hooked up
