I am still looking for a car to replace my 07 Compass in the case it breaks down. It was $800 so I don't plan on getting rid of it. How reliable is the 2009-2010 Pontiac Vibe? I know it has the 2AZ-FE engine which is the only thing I am worried about. Do these have oil burning problems?

Yes that is correct the 2009-2010 Pontiac Vibe, Toyota Matrix, and 09 Corolla came with either a 1.8 I4 that is very reliable or a 2.4 I4 that was designed wrong and starts burning oil at 70k miles. I would stick with the 1.8 engine in the Matrix/Vibe and you should be fine and yes there is oil burning in the 2.4 2az-fe engines.

The Vibe was essentially the same as the Toyota Matrix. I haven't heard of any oil burning issues on them personally.

It's a Toyota Matrix, which is basically a Toyota Corolla. And Corolla's a probably one of the most reliable cars you can get.
