i have a 2009 chevy aveo with 277,000 automatic there's a slight knock when starting up and when cold

If it goes away when the engine warms up, I’d live with it. Your car is extremely high mileage and if it made it there with the original engine & transmission, you deserve an applause.

Add some Lucas engine oil stabilizer next time you change the oil.
