Ford Focus how do I prevent my key from getting stuck in ignition

Hey Scotty, my sister has a 2007 Ford Focus SE 2.0L automatic with 182,000. I finally looked at it for her and here's what I found out:

She said she had a parasitic draw cause the battery was dead after awhile all the time. She also said the key would get stuck in the ignition. Sometimes she would get locked out of the car while it's running.

I put my portable jump starter on it, I couldn't get the car to start but then the key got stuck when I tried to take it out. When I disconnected the terminals from the battery, then the key came out.

I was guessing maybe replace the ignition switch or disable the anti theft system. The repair isn't urgent since she has a second car, a 2020 mitsubishi mirage. What say you?

It may or may not be 2 different problems. Make sure you know what you’re doing with the anti theft system or else you may worsen the problem/create a new one.

For the parasitic draw -
