Car has been sitting for about 2 years ….low mileage, automatic. What should I do to the engine before trying to start it?
Thanks,
Bill
Well with any car that has been sitting, I would check the usual stuff. Oil, coolant, filters, spark plugs, Ect. Before throwing parts on though I personally would actually like to see the car start, so a battery and then see if it goes. As if it does run, it won't hurt a whole lot to run for a minute, if there was any sludge build up as well I like to run it through and then drain all of it out, only exception is if the thing has a godawful FRAM filter... This is an opinion though as it varies from person to person. After that then just the usual motions, can of seafoam for gas if it's super bad, new plugs, fresh oil, good luck.
