2009 Pontiac Vibe GT with 2.4 liter engine is it reliable?
If get one with automatic transmission or manual?
Meh I'd go with the base 1.8L with a manual if you want the absolute best shot at long life.
No I wouldn't buy it. The 2.4 engine is the 2AZ-FE Toyota engine and its a real headache owning one they burn oil like mad.
Get a Matrix/Vibe base model with the 1.8 engine.
Thanks
You are correct, some did have oil burning issue and Toyota issued a technical service bulletin (TSB) TSB 0094-11

Yes a TSB was issued and the warranty should be void by now so the OP would be on its own, thanks Day Walker!
I can attest to the last link (which I have linked in my signature) as my friends 2.4 RAV4 started burning oil around 60k miles.
I would avoid this engine.
Yes. It’s a rebadged Toyota Matrix. Which is based of the Toyota Corolla. One of the most reliable cars km the market. Manual!
even with the 2az-fe engine??
Generally speaking. Of course, with any model, there are the anomalies.
Thank you everyone.
God bless.
