Shop says have to replace vacuum pump because no replacement seals for a cost of $800 (part and labor).
The vacuum pump is leaking top seal they say.
On Amazon lifetime guarantee gasket set for rebuilding the vacuum pump is $40.
Is replacing the seals just as good as a new part?

The only thing wrong with yours is it's leaking around the cover seal. Common issue.
Definitely buy the gasket kit. You don't even have to pull the pump to replace it
