Thoughts on 2009 corolla ? Seen it had about 13 recalls with other vehicles included

That year came with two engine options. 1.8 engine and 2.4 engine. You should stay away from the 2.4 engines as they were designed wrong and burn oil. It is the first year of a generation and as with any car, every first year of any given Corolla generation has more issues than the following years. I would personally look for a 2004-2008, or 2011-2013.
