Hey Scotty I have an automatic 2010 civic with a salvage, it had been crashed on the passenger side in 2012. It has 40k miles (checked with Carfax and everything looks in order) and when I accelerate I hear whining, it stops when I take my foot off the gas or it shifts gear and then starts back up , the car shakes a bit when in idol and you can feel the shifts especially from 1st to 2nd, it also has terrible gas mileage, around 17MPG
I suspect it has to do with the transmission but there's no codes, any suggestions?
Not the best transmissions, sounds like the problem, lesson learned , never buy salvage title car.
If I would've known it was a salvage I wouldn't have bought it, I live in another country and the car had been imported from the USA, before purchasing I searched the car history on a cheap website but out of curiosity I used Carfax this time and i found out It had been in a wreck.
