If you want to still get the truck, just set side money for a possible engine replacement. Not worth it to me, but it’s your money.

I've never met a 5.4L 3V Triton I liked. Early, middle, or late build.
the late ones from what i hear are a bit better
there were better in the later years its the early ones like 2004-2007 you have to watch out for
