I just bought a 13 Silverado 1500 with 90k miles 6 months ago, sold it today, very nice truck, I’m looking at a 2000 f250 with a 7.3 automatic, a lady told me about it because her husband fixed it up and then died, it has 517k miles on it, looks very nice, the guy really restored it, thinking about buying it but not sure, don’t know if after I buy it the thing might blow up, listed 7k, probably going to go for 5500, is it worth it? Sounds healthy and seems greatly maintained
With that mileage, it is a total dice roll.
I almost googled ‘rice doll’..
Hahahahah
@mountainmanjoe and @InThrustWeTrust You guys are hilarious. {blackemo}:laughtertotears: {blackemo}:hotdrink:
I doubt insurance will cover you for $5500
IMHO 20-year old high mileage (500k!) cars make sense for people in only a few categories:
A. Experienced home (or pro) mechanics who can evaluate all the systems and do most of the repairs themselves
B. People who want a weekend toy, and/or have another vehicle handy for getting to work/school or fetching parts
C. People who collect/restore cars (anybody have a nice Honda S2000?)
D. People who don't have any money and get them for almost nothing
If you fit one of these categories, go ahead. Otherwise, keep looking. There are a LOT of F250s out there, though most have been junked before 300k miles.
