I had to change my starter in my 2010 ford fusion today. Once the new starter was put in my car started instantly. I allowed it to run for 30 minutes and then I drove it for 15 minutes to make sure it was ok.  I get home and shut it off. I go out about 3 hours later to run to the store and now it won't start again.  My lights and radio come on in the car it just won't crank.  I had to put a battery charger on it to crank it. I go to advance to have them check my battery they tell me it's good. They had to jump me off to get my car started again.  I get home and shut it off and again it won't crank.  I'm trying to figure out if my battery needs to be replaced or if my alternator does.  Everyone I've spoken to says battery that it could just reading ok but it may have a bad cell in the battery.

Do you still have saved radio presets and saved trip A,B? If not the battery is going, look on the battery and see if there’s a moth and year sticker. If its over 5 years ago, that could indicate the battery’s reaching its lifetime.

you should always have your alternator and battery tested in tandem
