My wife has a 2010 RX350 she purchased slightly used from the dealer in 2010 that had 11,000 miles on it. It had an engine ticking noise that the dealer repeatedly told us was piston slap, that some of the Toyota & Lexus engines have it, that those engines were within factory tolerances and not to worry about it... We've followed the scheduled maintenance, use synthetic oil, and it still sounds about the same with currently 152,000 miles on it. It's loud when it first starts, then quiets to about like a noisy lifter rattling within a few minutes. We have had no issues with the car. Our daughter is in dire need of a car and short on cash. She lives in Phoenix. If we were to sell it to her, should this engine last another 50,000 miles being driven in Phoenix.
Well that's hard to say cuz when you get noise there is where but the noise has been there for quite some time only eventually it will create engine problems some of the new V6 Toyota engines are doing the same thing obviously the quality is not as good as it used to be
