Hey there scotty!
I've got a 2010 Mazda CX-9 with a 3.7Litre engine and it has 205429 thousand Kilometers (translates to 127647 thousand miles) and the engine is lacking power now,
when i try to accelerate, the car makes both an abnormal and loud "Grrrrr" and "clicking" noises.
I've also noticed that the car got worse gas mileage, and the engine is shaking.

Revving the engine:

Revving the engine continuously:

A voice recording while i was driving:

there's also a loud "krr" sound when i step on the gas to accelerate after a stop.

Increase your volume to hear the noises better^.

-Thanks for reading and helping me!

Note: the engine doesn't burn oil.

Well you get noises like that. It's off in the transmission starting to go out. That's the weakest part on that vehicle

We just changed the transmission 6 months ago at the dealer, why would it go out..?

Side note: my check engine light is on.

my check engine light is on

Have you had it scanned for codes?

I did, but i didn't get a specific reason on what happened to my car
some mechanic said that my catalytic converter is clogged up.

I went to the dealer this yesterday and they told me there is something wrong with the engine
they scanned everything but they weren't sure what was wrong with my car's engine.

But i don't think they care to know because they told me that they only replace things as "units"
and what i mean by that is that they basically wont fix my engine, they will only replace it.

There is a topic that might give you a clue what to do

The codes are:
P0420:FF
P0420:00
what do these mean and what can i do?
