Hi, I’ve been having one problem with my 2010 Mercury Mariner, which has 68k miles. Sometimes, when I’m driving, all of my gauges will go straight down to 0. Nothing mechanical, but it still worries me. Maybe just a wire? Im not sure. Thank you for any help.
The gauge cluster might have a connection issue. When this happens, try to push the cluster to see if you can make it work again.
thank you i’ll try that.
This is an obvious electrical wiring problem. Connections behind the instrument cluster have probably come loose over time and need to be snugly connected. Sometimes, you can reach up underneath the dash and push them back in. I usually remove the cluster, clean all the connections and reassemble it.
Thank you so much.
Thanks for the advice, I had tried it and it worked. Do you know what that could be? Also, sometimes my car won’t start and when I press on the gauge cluster, it starts right up.

You tried what?
Do you know what that could be?
Like doc said, a bad electrical connection. The cluster connector , the grounding point... or even the electronics inside the cluster.
