Scotty, hi!
I have a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS, 100K, automatic transmission. At stoplights sometimes it dips in RPM only to immediately recover and then dips again. This happens over and over until I start moving. To make it more complicated, it only happens *sometimes* and not all the time. What could possibly be happening?
Lots of possiblities to check:
- Dirty air filter
- Dirty MAF and/or throttle body
- Undetected vacuum leaks
- Dirty fuel injectors
- Cracked, worn or damaged spark plugs
- A bad ignition pack
- A malfunctioning 02 sensor
That's hardly an exhaustive list, but these are the usual suspects.
Thanks. I'll be getting it checked out by a mechanic soon and will post solution here.
There were no codes or no visible signs of malfunction so a routine cleaning was done which fixed the problem. Here's what was performed:
Replaced Iridium Spark Plugs
MAF Sensor cleaned
Throttle Body cleaned
Tank cleaner to clean fuel injectors
