Hey Scotty, I am about to purchase a used 2012 Honda Civic made in Japan (first owner). Owner mentioned that he refilled the refrigerant because the AC wasn't as cold as before - is that a red flag for a leak or something? Should I back-out? I have yet to check the condenser and hoses for damage or wear. BTW the mileage is 30k miles (mostly city driving). Cheers!
All A/C systems leak a little bit and Scotty has said that Honda A/C systems leak a little more than average. At the end of the day A/C doesn't affect the drivability and those are solid cars. Go ahead and buy it.
Have it inspected by a professional mechanic (with a repair estimate for the AC), before purchase & deduct that amount from your offer.
This is assuming the issue isn’t already fixed.
