I'm looking into buying a gas saver. I found 2010 Sentra SE-R with 130k. Its private seller. Could it be a car that last into 200k or more or should I move on from it. This car would be my daily driver, no abuse just to work and to my property 2 hours away on weekends.
Aside from any other issues it is unlikely that the transmission on that car would reach 200K miles. Nissan's Jatco CVTs are notoriously unreliable. It's surprising it's lasted as long as it has.
SE-R are all 6 speed manual
OK, didn't know that. Could be OK with manual trans for the right price if it's in good condition. Be sure to have a mechanic check it out both physically and with a pro-grade scan tool.
I wouldn't purchase it myself. Nissans aren't known for going the distance.
The older Sentras were good cars but the new ones are one of the worst. I would stick to Honda or Toyota instead.
