Recently the power steering works intermittently, when it’s not working on the dash pops up service ESC power steering I’ve been trying to research if the car has electronic power assist or just hydraulic Control. Sometimes when I turn the vehicle off and wait and turn it back on and it works fine. The only code I can get from my Scan tool is P0010 I don’t believe that’s related to the power steering issue. I appreciate any help with answers. I just need the car to last a little bit longer to save up money to get another one
I forgot to mention the mileage it has almost 178,000 miles. We’ve owned it since 2011 and bought it when I had 40,000 miles
OK - have you checked the level of your power steering fluid? (It has hydraulic).

Can I unplug the electronic stability control If it is an option to unplug?
The manual says the four-cylinder models don’t have hydraulic steering, it says it has electric power assist.
