Should I use premium gas?

Just got a great deal on a 2010 rx 350 with a clean history.  Can't believe how smooth and comfortable the ride is.  I assumed it ran on 87 but have come to realize that premium is suggested.  Been running regular for over a month with no noticeable impact to power or fuel economy.  Should I immediately switch to premium or is there anything I should be looking out for running regular?  Thanks!  Car has 130K mileage.

Please use the site search function, this kind of question has been asked many times. The short answer is check your owner's manual to see if premium fuel is "recommended" (meaning optional), or "required".

Engine knocking or pinging means the octane is too low.

My 2004 Toyota Avalon 3L V6 runs best using Shell V-Power Nitro+ Premium (91 octane in California). It does not knock or ping using lower octane fuel but it is definitely more responsive and accelerates stronger with the premium. If you are curious why not try a tank or two of a top tier premium gasoline and see if you notice a difference.🤔
