Hey Scotty,
I have a 2010 Toyota Camry 2.5l with around 178,000 kms on it. Everytime I cold start the car, it makes a rattling noise. It lasts around a second or two and then it goes away. Also if I drive it and the engine is still cold, when I turn the AC or heat on there’s a continuous rattling noise. It usually doesn’t happen when the car is warmed up though. What could it be?
Thanks for your help,
Asad Mirza

old age in a warm timing chain often do that and sometimes the variable valve timing actuators do it as long as it goes away you could drive it that way cuz it's a very expensive repair
