Hey Scotty,
My 2010 Camry is losing 4 quarts of oil roughly every 2k miles. I changed from using 0w20 to 10w30 or 10w40 as told by my mechanic in hopes to slow the oil consumption but to very very little or no success. I almost have 209k. Please help!!
that's a lot of oil. I would start looking for another car.
So you don't think is worth replacing the motor?
It's like doing a heart transplant. Very complex. Hardly anyone knows how to do right. Cars seldom ever work properly after an engine replacement. And the cost of doing that, is too close the market value of the car. I think the money is better spent going towards a newer car.
Definitely time to look for a replacement.
A replacement motor or car?
I'd just replace the car.
Typical for those just drive it and continue adding oil until you get a new vehicle.
