Hi Scotty. My name is Daniel and I own a 1996 Honda Civic EX Coupe VTEC with 229000 miles. I have problems with my car. Sometimes when I start the engine it's runs weird. The RPMs go to 900 then goes down and goes up to 900 then it's goes down and sometimes it's goes to Cero and the engine shut down.

I already had replace the spark plugs and the wires for a new ones. I still have the same issue.

I think I have a bad distributor. Do you have any thoughts???

I love your YouTube channel !!!!

Idle surging in those Honda’s is very common and is due to most likely a bad idle air control valve. Very easy to replace its under the throttle body with 2 coolant lines going to it. If you are going to replace it make sure to get OEM m, aftermarket IAC are know to fail quickly. It also wouldn’t hurt to check your coolant having really low coolant level also affects the operation of the IAC so it’s a good place to start.

I already have replaced the IAC this year. I forgotten to mention that.

Did you use OEM part?

How’s your coolant level?
