Volvo S60 vs Lexus IS

I’m in the market to replace my 2010 328i Xdrive. Has 109,000 miles, still love how this car handles, and despite almost 110,000 miles, she’s still going strong. Want something more up to date and with lower repair costs, but still has a sporty feel. I’m in between going for a 2015 Volvo S60 or a 2013 IS350 - not a huge fan of the latest IS body style and love the old school V6 in the prior generation. I live in the North East, so awd and a smooth ride over bumpy roads is a must. The Lex is the clear winner in terms of reliability, but the AWD hump in the footwell that partially limits foot space to the gas pedal is a bit of an annoyance. Is the Volvo that bad in terms of reliability? Any opinion on which one has a better awd system?

The Volvo won't be nearly as reliable, that's just facts. I'd take the Lexus if it were me. Better a hump in the floor than an unreliable car.

If you plan to keep for a long time and put well beyond 100,000 miles on it then the Lexus IS is the only way to go.  You will have to spend more on the Volvo as it ages.  Also, Toyota/Lexus AWD is fairly good and reliable.

Sad but true the Lexus is more reliable. I personally prefer the Volvo but if I had to buy one I regret to say I'd get the Lexus because it wouldn't have as many repairs. Don't get me wrong the Volvo is much more reliable than the BMW but after 130 140k miles you are in risky territory.
