Hey Guys/Scotty,

I saw a nice Lexus GS 250 with the 2.5L V6 209hp. It has 50.000miles (80.000km) on the clock. 2012 model year.

Now I just want to know if this car is any good for long term. 50k miles? Is that much for a Lexus? I know that Lexus is reliable but does this also include the GS?

I am getting it for 19.000€ should be about 20k dollars. It has pretty good equipment btw leather, nav everything.

Thanks for ya alls answers

I just found out that it emits 200g of co2. Here in germany this might be a problem for me in the future because of regulations.

Maybe I get a IS 300h. Is this car reliable aswell? It should have the same 2.5 V6. Maybe you guys can tell me more about the IS

Those are excellent sport luxury reliable cars. Similar to ES series but sporty. I would get the RWD version since AWD systems get expensive down the road. Unfortunately they are discontinued in US recently I’m not sure about Europe but if this is the case, you can get the cheaper as well.

Thanks for your answer mate. I hope the car I saw is RWD

Good luck man.

The ES/GS are very well made vehicles.

Does the GS 250 have the same V6 as the 350 but just smaller and with less power? Maybe you know

I don't have experience with one but it has the 2.5 V6 engine, producing 206 break horsepower (less than the 350 but still a good amount). Not available in the states.

The Gs is the most reliable of the lexus sedans and my personal favorite too. Try looking at the edmunds consumer reviews; you learn a lot about the vehicle's reliability like that.

In addition to the comments above, this engine 2.5L V6 (4GR-FSE) is direct injection-only so will have carbon build up over time.  In addition to installing a catch can which would mitigate the issue you might have to clean the intake valves as well once in a while.  Just some more maintenance to think about.
