Hello Scotty, my wife and I just purchased a 2011 Chevy Silverado Hybrid. It has 195,000 miles but was in immaculate condition! So I was sold, but right after driving off the lot we hit a stop light and it went from auto start to off! I had to put it in park and start it again to go! Can I disable this feature, and would it make a difference? This problem isn't consistent, and so I cannot trust it with my kids in the back.
Well generally there's a button you can push to disable the start stop but you have to push it every time you start the car cuz when you turn the car off it will reset itself when you restart the car and you'd have to push the button to shut it off again. Most have that feature. Now if your car doesn't have that feature and you push the button but it's still dies, then you have a problem. Could easily have some type of problem like a vacuum leak or fuel injection problem the cocks it out intermittently. It would take a guy like me with a fancy scan tool, some serious road trips to analyze the day out of the figure out what it was, if that's the case
