My 2011 Ford Expedition EL limited 5.4 V8 has 224,000 miles RWD automatic and is not blowing heat in rear vents. I just replaced blower for rear vents for AC and it blows super cold but when switch to heat it doesn’t blow at all . My mechanic said acuators are fine that it needs a software update but it cost a pretty penny at dealership. I just want to make sure it really does need update and is that the problem?

The most common cause of this problem is air in the rear coolant lines. Air is very difficult to get out of rear cooling lines and typically requires someone get under the car and massage the hoses to get coolant to flow through them. I've seen this before on Fords with multi-zone heating systems.
