Hi Scotty, i just purchased a 2011 Ford fiesta for my daughter's 16th birthday. It runs great, engine has 225k and has no problems at all that I've encountered. It has an issue with the transmission-it will shudder randomly. I know there were massive issues with these transmissions. I was wondering if you know of a way to reflash the TCM without taking it to the dealer? Also, what are your thoughts on these little cars?
Also, a bonus for you... My husband has a 1996 Ford probe with almost 300k miles on it. It's just a cheap little beater car but she still runs and drives like a champ! Lol.
Bad news - the dry dual-clutch automated transmissions in those cars are no good. They were the subject of a class action lawsuit that Ford settled some time ago. Ford was forced to buy a lot of them back but the time for that has expired. There is no fix for the transmission problem, it is just a bad design that Ford knew was bad when it was designed and released to the public. Firmware updates will not fix it.

You bought a car that should've never been put out to be sold with a crappy designed transmission. If it's not too late,..go get your money back.
