Looking to buy a car and wanted to know if anybody knew anything about Honda Crosstour and Toyota CH-R, are they reliable SUVs, what are the major problems, what is a good deal for a used one? If anyone can answer these I would appreciate. Thank you

I much prefer the size and performance of the Honda Crosstour w/ 4 Cylinder engine.  Not too big, not too small. It’s basically a Honda Accord in a crossover/suv form factor.

The Toyota CH-R is more comparable to the Honda HR-V.  Both fine automobiles.

AFAIK, all are relatively reliable vehicles. My biggest concern would be the 6 cylinder engine in the Honda if it has VCM (Variable Cylinder Management). Honda had 2 versions of the engine in the Crosstour. I much prefer the version WITHOUT VCM.

Both are good/reliable, but the ch-r is a smaller suv. I want to suggest also considering the rav4 if you are looking at the Crosstour given the rav4 being a bigger suv compared to ch-r.

The Crosstour was well made and I imagine most were well-maintained.  But it's been several years out of production and most must be racking up quite a few miles.  If you find one that passes inspection, could be a reasonable choice. (Note: I looked at valuations on them last year and they were a little high, I thought.  Even though styling is polarizing, some people really like them.  Expect to pay up for a good one.)
